Ants are a year-round nuisance on the Sunshine Coast, but they are at their worst after summer storms. Rain floods their nests and sends whole colonies looking for dry ground, which is often inside your walls, under the slab or along the kitchen bench. Coastal brown ants, black house ants and tiny sugar ants are the ones most callers see. Some colonies also move into power boxes, wall cavities and pot plants.
